Well since I shared a couple of pins last week, i decided to share more this week. Let's jump right in, shall we?
The first pin is one I purchased on the Retirement Trip that Jess and I went on. I bought it simply because I liked it!
...as I did with this next one! Since I hadn't been to Disneyland since June, 1973, I absolutely wanted to get a Disneyland pin!
Now this next one, I already had. I don't go on many roller coasters, but I do enjoy Space Mountain. This was purchased at Walt Disney World.
As was this giant Epcot pin! I really don't remember picking this one up...
The next Epcot pin (also obviously purchased at Walt Disney World) is special because Jess gave it to me on our trip in 2015.
I think I picked this Haunted Mansion pin up the trip before that one, in 2010, with just my wife, Laurie.
Now this next one is very special! Jess made sure that we got to go inside Walt's apartment on my Retirement Trip! This was my ID badge/ pass...
And our room key from that same trip! I had always wanted to stay in the Disneyland Hotel and it was great!
And here is the lanyard we got "free" with our trip! This is what I wore the whole time I was there and it reminds me of what a fantastic time we really had!
I haven't decided exactly when and to which resort we're going next. But I'm thinking....I'm thinking...
Until next time, keep searching for treasure!
Stu, I'm enjoying these 'souvenir' posts. I especially like the 2nd pin...it's so detailed and full of favorites. Though the castle needs a dent added.
ReplyDeleteWhen you went to Walt's apartment, did you see Walt's grilled cheese sandwich press? Memorable. :oD
You definitely need to go back to Disneyland.
There! -- I helped you decide!
Hi Sue!
DeleteYeah, that second pin really sets the mood, dent or no! I wonder if they would ever make a "dent pin" for the truely dedicated?
Yes, we saw the press! They need to give everyone a grilled cheese from it, but the logistics probably wouldn't work out.
Ok, we will!
The Disney 100 pin: Nice! Classic Mickey and Minnie. Plus, it's sparkly!
ReplyDeleteThe Disneyland Resort pin: Also nice! It's got pretty much every iconic image from the Park(s). Fireworks, Tink, Mickey's Fun Wheel (or whatever it's called now), the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and oh yeah, the Castle! Lots of subtle, subdued colors too.
WDW Space Mountain: Looks like it's seen a bit of wear, but we can still see Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. I like how Mickey's ears are angled backward from the G-forces (or maybe the wind).
A good pose for Mickey on the EPCOT pin. I like the colors too. Maybe Spaceship Earth should've been white, or silver?
The Mickey-eared Spaceship Earth pin looks classy and sophisticated.
I like the Haunted Mansion pin. Immediately recognizable as Disney's Haunted Mansion. Also, the tarnished silver gives it an 'old casket' sort of vibe.
The Walt's Main Street Story badge is a twofer: It is your ID that got you into Walt's apartment, plus it makes a nice souvenir afterward.
The room key makes an excellent souvenir. I like the Small World motif.
The lanyard, all by itself, is a wonderful memento. And now it's a 'home' for your various pins. Nice!
Thanks, Stu.
Yeah, I'm a sucker for sparkly!
DeleteNumber two is fun, although, as Sue pointed out, they missed the dent.
The Space Mountain pin has gone a few miles with me! I used to have the cap with the same design, but the dog ate it. For real.
Yeah, Jess has good taste!
I love the HM pin! The "ghost in the mirror is classic, IMHO!
The badge key and kanyard are wonderful "accidental souveniers!" I wouldn't take for 'em!
Hopefully I can get back soon with my lovrly wife this time! I owe her a trip now!
